Yep, we all dislike that annoying little guy.
My character got into a taunting match with him early on in the game and now he thinks he's my mortal enemy. I hate to kill the little guy...the odds areNOT in his favor, Wood Elf fists vs. Breton with Daedric Claymoor...any suggestions on how to calm him down with out resorting to violence??
But...if that's not possible...I do have a humiliating way to deal with the obnoxious little squirt.
Trap him in a soul gem and use him to enchant a loincloth to fortify personality :ebil:
On the same subject, how do *you* humiliate someone who's tried to kill you?
I usualy leave 'em lying where they've fallen and steal thier pants.
(Mess with me and you end up stone dead and bare arsed).
If I can trap their souls, they're promptly used to enchant loincloths to sell to merchants for insanely high prices.

Try a "Calm Humanoid" spell. If you don't already have one, they can be purchased (

And remember, if you don't have a character with high magicka, you can always turn every essential spell into an enchanted item.

And thanks to Arkay, you can't soul trap the Mer or Nemer races. :)

Well I calmed the little n'wah with a calm creature spell , gave 'im his ring back along with a 1000 septums bribe...I was up to 100/100 with him...for about 20 seconds...when I hear "you should run now" and WHAP! He punches me, ME wearing enchanted titanium armour and carrying a dadric claymore...there ought to be a plugin that makes npc's react differently to you when you're wearing higher quality stuff and dark robes & capes.
I cast a blinding spell and left 'im staggering around in a swamp. :tsktsk:

AIs do have an "uh-oh, run away" routine, but I'm not sure what triggers it. That seems to be a mid-combat event anyway. I agree there should be some function whereby if you're obviously carting fancy armour and enchanted weapons around, weaker AIs decide you're out of their league and refrain from picking fights.

In my experience it's pretty rare for the NPCs to decide they've had enough and back out of a fight; it's only happened to me three or four times in all the time I've been playing  Usually they just keep hammering away until they die. Fools.....
I care so much for Fargoth that I made a custom spell especially for him...1 point Fire damage for 100 seconds. I call it "Fargoth's Slow Burn", and you wouldn't believe how entetaining it is to watch him run in circles, aflame, for over a minute until he finally dies with an annoyed yell :ebil:
I must try a blinding spell as well, that sounds like fun. Fargoth is pretty much my lab rat for testing new destructive spells

I can't figure out why every Morrowind fan on every forum hates Fargoth so much. He's never bothered me at all. What makes him any more annoying than any other NPC (all of whom get on my nerves after a while).

"I swear one of the Guards has it. I had it last week before their weekly "Let's shake down Fargoth" ritual. An engraved healing ring, family heirloom of mine. You haven't seen it have you?"
"Yes, thank you for finding it! Those guards better look out."
"Are you the one that boat dropped off? Odd to see a boat arrive at that time of the day. Hope the Imperials treated you okay. I swear they took my ring."
who wants to take that crap from this guy...

Wood Elf males in general are squeaky, ugly (with the original face models at least) little urchins. Seeing as Fargoth is the first of them you meet... he's the one you always rememember

It's true that all the Wood Elf males are highly killable, but you really can't avoid Fargoth, you practically collide with him the moment your hapless newbie adventurer steps out of the Census building. Also, it's the fact that he tries to be sneaky and cunning (about hiding his "stash") when he really hasn't got the brains to back it up.
I tend to think that the "screw Fargoth over" quest from the Nord guy in Arrille's ignites the flame of gleeful malice as far as the little blonde horror is concerned......
