Frustrating Deus Ex Problem... - by RogueAI

I've got a problem with Deus Ex, and no matter what I do, nothing seems to cure it.
It used to be characterised by talking to a character, and the sentances cutting out half way through. Thanks to TheNightTerror's topic, I've got that one solved. But when I place a LAM on a wall, the light on the front flickers incredibly fast. Not only that, but if I try to defuse one, the beeping is about three times as fast as normal, meaning its impossible to defuse it in time.
The PC is running XP Home, with 1024MB of RAM, and 1.5GHz processor. It has an Intel Graphics card as well (bleh, but not my choice, it's a loan type thing for work).
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, can you guys tell me what to do to fix it?
Thanks in advance :)

try putting this into your shortcut in the target line: -cpuspeed=1200
My laptop runs at 1.2 ghz so put your cpu speed in there and try it out.

Thanks GoldenNugget, I'll give it a go when I finish work tonight, and let you know how it went :)

I had some problems with Deus Ex too. Turning the V-Sync on helped but be aware that some new games might (and will) run slowly when V-Sync is on. So turn it off again when playing new ones.
