From what you know so far, what you don't like and really make u nervous ? - by sterlino

"Other", but that breaks sterlino's intent to choose the very worst thing. I can't do it.

Can this poll be made multiple choice? I really wanted to vote for more than one issue.
The reason of this poll is to see if there is one fearest thing above it all.
Mutliple choice would ruin this purpose.

The 3rd person breaks are what everyone's really worried about? I voted for the the reboot of the saga, since this is the one part of the game we know the least about, and the one place where they could most easily drop the ball.

The other choices in the poll have the potential to detract from my enjoyment of the game, but some of them may actually increase my enjoyment of the game. Perspective shifts shatter my suspension of disbelief and could easily ruin the game for me.

Focus mode makes me the most nervous. It could be an interesting idea, or it could turn out to be VATS with mandatory cuts to 3rd person to show off the kewl animations.

Before I played HR, I wasn't too sure how I'd take the perspective shifting. I figured as long as it wasn't too jarring, like it'd jerk the camera into an entirely different direction than what I intended every time I'd pop up against a wall, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.
Truth be told, it worked better than I thought. After about an hour or two, I didn't even notice it anymore. It never felt like I was shifting between perspectives because my eyes were always focused on the action. Once I got used to it, my sense of immersion wasn't ever ruined. I was never taken out of the moment.
That said, I don't think it'd work quite as well in Thief simply because of the type of game it is. Deus Ex is all about infiltration and cool gadgets. You have the choice to make your way to your goal silently, or go in with guns blazing. Thief shares a similar premise, but it's built more around tension and vulnerability. To maintain that amount of tension, you have to keep the player in Garrett's head as often as possible. You should only be able to see what he'd be able to see in whatever situation he's in. Going 3rd person can allow you look around that corner just a little farther, peek over that edge just a little easier, and all without directly exposing Garrett himself. He's safely behind a wall. The camera is just behind him and to the right somewhere, looking straight through a doorway.
3rd person lowers risk, and while it wouldn't ruin the game entirely, it would take away some of the tension that makes Thief Thief. This would be my biggest issue with it.

Maybe I'm just weird when it comes to things like perspective changes. Oddly, I have a fairly high tolerance for things I normally wouldn't like in a game if there's some in-game rationale for whatever it is. Say maybe Garrett tosses out some kind of floating scouting orb before he engages in some especially difficult climbing. I'd probably be okay with that. I might even be able to tricksie myself into accepting 3rd-person climbing by just imagining that Garrett does something like that. The 3rd-person combat shifts present more of a problem for me.
Man, I'm really trying hard to get past the things I expect to not like about the new Thief.

I have to agree with Renz. This whole 'reboot' thing has me concerned (still concerned about many other aspects of the new, improved T4 as well, mind you).
If, as was stated in the RPS article, the Keepers are a thing of the past and
if neither Keepers, Mechanists, and/or Hammerites are actively involved in T4, then wherein is it a 'reboot of the saga'? We just don't know enough yet.
Don't much care for the 3rd person breaks thing either.

I think it's better to keep this as a single-choice poll, it's going to be quite interesting to see what's
the worst thing about the new Thief in our opinion!

Yup, I think it's my biggest worry at the moment. It
could work out just fine, but like you said:
"3rd person lowers risk, and while it wouldn't ruin the game entirely, it would take away some of the tension that makes Thief Thief." If you can safely look around corners in 3rd person, then that's just kinda lame and it kills the excitement. Since the 1st person view worked so well in Mirror's Edge and in Dishonored too (apparently - I haven't played it yet), I got to wonder why they're adding some mandatory 3rd person stuff in a game like Thief. Showing off some cool takedown moves every now and then is one thing that's
almost acceptable in my book (:p), but I don't need help in climbing or unfair advantage when I'm hiding behind some cover.
So yeah, this is my biggest issue with the game right now, in fact I would even go as far as Nuth in saying that...

wots VATS?
I don't know why anyone should be worried about Focus mode. Didn't they say that its use is being restricted and that it might be gone altogether in the "old school" mode?
What do we know about the Focus mode at the moment? It slows down time during combat (and when picking locks and stealing stuff), and highlights all the interactive/usable objects in the view... what else?
