3 for a Thief game, probably 7 for a generic game.
I've no doubt it will sell reasonably well, but probably not enough to cover the development and marketing cost, that's a trend with most games these days. Like Thief 3, some of the design decisions are questionable, but your average punter will be able to put up with them if it's generally a good game.

No dedicated and rabid NuFanCommunity will spring up from this game and keep its majestic legacy alive for years and years
There's certainly overlap between Longevity and Greatness, but they aren't the same thing. The games with the longest lifespan are the ones with solid multiplayer and/or an active modding-scene. There's still plenty of fantastic games though (like Dark Souls, FTL, Batman:AA) that get praised and talked about a lot when they're new, but discussion about them dries up after a while because... well, what else is there to say?
I don't think New Thief will have a long lifespan either, might still be a good game though.

This is for the DEVELOPERS, in case they read out.
As a Thief Fan want to hope for the best since in the end it's the series that matters. It should not end for the sake of one mistake considering great past.
For Thief 4 - Just look at the past and take the best aspects from each previous iteration as a baseline, and No, don't try to change it rather built on it, innovate, allow players to think, strategise and choose. Everything we love about Thief can be bigger and better using the current level of technology to push every mechanic to great heights.
DEVELOPERS must ensure about putting out quality, rather than shooting for the mass market.
Watch that the game-play remains as similar as possible with strong improvements that can make it more fluid and accessible.

Not satisfied at all - 4/10
SubJeff on 26/8/2013 at 23:31
That would be 0/10.
Robert4222 on 26/8/2013 at 23:42
Nevermind

First off; it's unnecessary to quote a post directly above ups.
Secondly; why are you even quoting me?

Subjective Effect, are you really voting 0/10 ?!?!
I must say, I am impressed.

Read the post above mine. Then read my post.

Holy Christ on a stick. You two (Goldmoon Dawn and Robert4222) are currently tied in the lead for the "Incredibly Thick Award 2013". What S.E. was referring to, and I cannot believe this has to be pointed out to anyone over the age of five, was this:

Not satisfied at all - 4/10
... for which S.E. clarified that 0 out of 10 would be complete dissatisfaction, not 4 out of 10.
Please, quit jumping to erroneous conclusions ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. Thank you.
(edit) S.E. beat me to the post.
