Another negative effect Thief 4 might have is a possible drop in T2 fan missions being made. People who might otherwise be working on FM's will be playing T4 instead.

Not sure how much negative if playing is but a blip in time compared to the hundreds of hours available for modding in a year. T4 has no editor and no where to go but fade away.
