Nice, but I'm going to wait and see how their Planescape sequel shapes up, because while Wasteland 2 was a decent distraction, I can honestly say nothing about it stood out in any fashion.
And anyway, they're only at the prototype phase right now, and are going to crowdfunding for this. Which means a 2018/19 release at best if their Fig campaign makes it. (2.75 million? That's a bit dicey given backer outlook these days, innit?)

If anyone could do it, they could. Inxile already has 3 kickstarter successes under their belt they've earned a lot of trust with. What's one more?

Also planning on seeing if Torment ever comes out and if it's any good, because WL2 was...ok. Of the kickstarted stuff that's come out so far, the only thing I can honestly say I've enjoyed without reservation has been PoE. I guess the first 2 Shadowrun Returns campaigns were good too.

Well, I liked WL2. The only real complaint I had about it was that it was oldschool in the bad ways as well as the good. Hopefully, that overly clanky UI will be one of the first things they rehaul for the sequel.

Why'd they have to go with Fig and not Kickstarter. I find KS far more trust worthy overall.
Jason Moyer on 29/9/2016 at 14:33
Because they co-own it?

Exactly. Which removes the neutrality in it all.
Hence my dislike.
When you control the rules, you control the game. So to speak.

How is Kickstarter more trustworthy? It's not like they take developers to task for failing to deliver. The only thing they do is provide a platform and take a cut, basically.

I said far more.
Site A - Has no staff members with a controlling stake in the company.
Site B - Has staff members who do have a controlling stake.
For me I see site B as less trust worthy, just as I would in any other similar example whether it's games related or not. It's what's called a "conflict of interest". And I said earlier it lacks the neutrality of Kickstarter. So for me I find it less trust worthy based on that.
I refused to back Psychonauts 2 for similar reasons.
