The feeling I associate with it is "existential discomfort". :P

I gave this game a standing ovation when the credits rolled.
What a great story.

I agree...Fantastic game.
Well crafted atmosphere, story-line, and game-play interaction.
Would have loved to see a small indie team like this produce a deeper, immersive experience for Thief 4...rather than the shallow power fantasy that was NuThief.

When I beat the game I couldn't stop thinking about it for 2 weeks. (
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/93321-SOMA-Review) SOME PEOPLE might complain about the lack of new game mechanics from this studio, but it's obvious they used their tried and true method to give us all something deeper. I don't know that it's my GOTY, but it's pretty close if it isn't.

The only thing I didn't like from a gameplay mechanics standpoint was how teleporty some of the enemies were, with not explanation. I managed to lock one of the baddies at Theta in a room, by luring him in there and then sneaking off to the security room and locking the doors remotely. I was so pleased with myself when I pulled that off, but then the fucker shows up again outside it for no reason. No reason other than TO PISS ME OFF :grr:

It's on winter's sale now in PSN store for $20, I want it but I feel it's still a bit too much for a 8hrs game without replayability. For half that price I'd be in. Besides, people say the game is closer to Amnesia than to my favourite Penumbra.

JUST PLAYING IT NOW, IT IS VERY GOOD, I RECOMMEND IT. If you like creeping round the rotting carcass of a brilliantly-realised underwater shady-shit facility while being very confused about what everything (including you) even is, it's great. SS2 vibes. Like it more than Alien Isolation so far, and I really liked that. It's kinda what I hoped bioshock would be, actually.

SOMA is my favourite horror game now. It used to be Amnesia, but SOMA improves on Amnesia by having a really great plot, and a lot of great, terrifying sci-fi concepts that really fuck with your head.
