Well, since you're in Hong Kong, I can tell you where to find at least one laser weapon mod:
Assuming you have a rebreather or two, some points in Swimming skill, the Aqualung augmentation, or any combination of the three, you can go to the flooded canal. If you find karkians, you know you're in the right place. You will need to swim in the canals to reach the underwater flooded part. At one end of the flooded tunnel is a scientist (and some goodies), and at the other end of the tunnel, still underwater though, is a collection of boulders. Way in the back, you'll find your laser weapon mod, resting on the floor. Depending on your skills, equipment, and experience, you might find this area a bit difficult.
I think they axed the laser mod in the PS2 version, because I still haven't found any of the damn things. But what the hell, it dosen't sound too terribly usefull.

You'd be wrong there, Laser sights make bullets totally accurate when it's on.
I made a list of weapon mods a year ago: (

And from the reaction that I got, it's an almost straight port. Until the laser mod was mentioned, people assumed I was using the PC version. Buy it, save hard drive space.

It can be solved, but only if you remember to talk to everone possible whenever you are in UNATCO.

The only real problem I had with the PS2 version was the way they ruined some of the level design by chopping up areas. In that respect I think Half Life was ported better, though overall it was worse.

Yeah but cut DX some slack. They ported it almost
three years after it was released for PC. Distributors don't do that anymore unless they get a sleeper hit.

Care to elaborate?
