Does anyone out there that has Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) on Xbox have problems with it freezing for 3-5 seconds or locking up altogether.
I have already taken back my xbox and got a new one but it still does it. I even exchanged the game for a new copy and it still does it.
I just want to know that it is not just me!!

Different people have slightly different experiences with it.
There was an issue with certain variants of the XBox's DVD-Rom not reading multi-layer DVDs very well (Morrowind is one such DVD), but if you don't get lots of Dirty Disk Errors then that's not it.
There are some things that can help keep lockups down, but even I experience them from time to time (for no apparent reason).
1) Keep the system cool enough. If you've got it locked away in a cabnet, it might get too warm (or if you're not getting enough air to it).... this is I think the most common problem with XBox games locking up.
2) If the game starts to studder a bit, stop and rest for a bit. Morrowind makes use of the HD Cache much more so than many other games, and at times it may need to get done fiddling with the files between the DVD and the HDD Cache.
3) If you're getting lots of problems you might try clearing out the Cache for the XBox. You do this by loading up a few other games (different software), let each of them load all the way up, then shut down and goto another title. I think you need about 3-5 titles for this to work. If there is some poor data in the Cache, it might just keep re-reading that bit and that could hang it.
4) I've heard that people who've abused the Soul-Trap glitch have had lots of problems with GOTY... if you Ubered yourself out (why you'd want to I don't know, the game is easy enough without even buying training, let alone Ubering via an abuse such as this), you may want to start a new game and play it straight for a while and see if things run better.
5) Clean up after your kills. Get rid of the bodies. It'll keep your number of blocks down and that can sometimes effect how the game itself plays.
6) Save... save... and save again. Lockups happen when you least expect them (and with no real warning at times)... save often and you'll not curse the Box for that hour and a half that you played and lost everything (like I almost did when I finally beat the main quest with my original Morrowind Character when I first got GOTY, then had it lock up out of noware while I was on my way to Play with some of the new stuff).
Oh, I've noticed with mine that the music will pause momentarily from time to time. Don't know why, but it's new with GOTY, I think it's due to the extra load of information that GOTY has to deal with.
