If Aerothorn still holds that opinion today, then he probably won't like the upcoming FPS Homefront from Kaos Studios. Which sounds like it pretty much is the modern day equivalent to Red Dawn. Hell the game's even written by John Millius.

The gimmick of having a radio controlled APC sounds like tons of fun though. Reminds me of the Dead Reckoning from Land of the Dead.

Why doesn't someone just go ahead and license the damn Red Dawn rights and make a proper game about it/set in its universe already? Freedom Fighters was sorta close, and that Turning Point; Fall of Liberty (not to mention World in Conflict, though I haven't played it).

Thankfully I got over my Bush-anger and bought the game. Script was awful (even compared to what one would expect from such a scenario) but the gameplay was quite fun and the music was excellent. That said, don't think it has held up very well - I tried replaying a year or so ago and it wasn't very compelling.

Freedom Fighters is awesome. I still fire it up from time to time.

What's with the angry faces?
Overall story doesn't matter, it's how it's executed that makes it good.

I like that the alternate history of the game is basically "imagine the horror of the USSR behaving exactly like the US did after WWII".
