Why arnt there any topics bout (
http://www2.ioi.dk/games/FreedomFighter.shtml) this game ffs!?
I just finished it and it was realy damn good. It's like Hitman2 but with the focus on team-based warfare. It has a good story, nice physics(same engine as Hitman2), nice music(Jesper Kyd), nice in-game cutscenes(the one before the last mission especialy, nicest - in-game - cutscene - EVER!) and for probably the first time, since Super Mario Bros, the hero is a plumber!
Well, ex-plumber, current occupation; FREEDOM FIGHTER!

edit: holey shiet! Noticed the news on IO Interactives site, (
http://www2.ioi.dk/PressReleases/IOI030304.shtml) they're part of Eidos, starting today. Nice. :)

It's an interesting/cool game judging from the demo, too bad there was just something unspecified arcade-likeness in the action that put me off..
Btw. definite bonus from being able to shoot lights out, that seems still to be (apart from Splinter Cell) mostly taboo :)

Its a pretty good game and well worth it if you can get it cheap. If the PC version is anything like the Gamecube version then keep in mind that this is a console shooter (3rd person view, autoaim, etc), not a PC shooter.
Pros
-squadmates work pretty well
-good hit detection on the enemies, particularly the ones where you have to shoot through the eyes of their helmets.
-maps where your actions that affect other maps
-news report cutscenes are hilarious
Cons
-tough to aim while moving
-no first person view
-figuring out the correct order to do maps may be trial and error
-some long missions with no save opportunities (at least on Gamecube version)
-Soviets cannot win in multiplayer. The US players can just stand there taking full clips from their AK47's, use a medpack to heal all the damage, and then quickly kill the Soviets with their more powerful shotguns.

I would get it, since it's so cheap, but ever since the Bush administration took office I haven't been able to stand any patrotic suck-up, "Oh my god the commies are gonna kill us all" crap. Yes, I know it's fictional, but I think it'd still annoy me a lot all the same.

Naah, the PC version is a "proper" PC shooter, with mouseaim and all. Aiming while moving isnt a problem, just use the over-the-shoulder precision aiming. And I dunno how the save system worked on GC, but on PC you can only save at the manholes. You still have to fight your way through a lot of enemies to get to the next save point tho, so it's good, gets rid of the "quick-save every 5 seconds"-factor. Sadly, there aint any multiplayer in the PC version. :erg:

Excellent game for many reasons. I loved it.
BUT.....:erm:
It was very short and I found too easy. I've only played it one time around and in the "You got what it takes?" level which is the 3rd level of difficulty of 4 levels.
I'll try again on the hardest difficulty to see if I get a better challenging experience.
*Also the game is very generous on medical kits. I know you use them to help your teammates and wounded people you stumble upon but still....it should be more challenging.

Didn't want to start a new thread for a simple post. Soz for the necro.
Anyway, anyone out there a big Freedom Fighters fan? Perhaps you collect official Strategy Guides? Well, I happen to have 2 copies of the Prima official strategy guide for Freedom Fighters, and I am willing to give one away (I'll cover the postage as well) providing someone wants one because of the above, and not simply because it is free game shwag.
Reply here or PM me or whatever if you are interested.
