Awesome! But why the third episode, I wonder? Ah well. Free is free. :)

It's like when they make two-for-one pizza deals on Tuesdays. You use the thing that people would do last as your promotional for the stuff they'd do first. Also, you watch 1, you can call it a self-contained thing. You watch 3 and you're probably dying to know some more back story.
I guess.

each of the w&g episodes is self-contained. maybe 1 or 2 remarks by a character to a previous episode but that's it. recommended (especially for free)
the whole W&G season itself was decent, nothing spectacular, but decent

Ah, yeah, that does make sense.

Ah, I see. I got it anyway (like I said, free is free), and just figured I'd wait to play it until I bought the other two, but if they stand alone, then that's all the better.

From playing a bit of it, it does seem like it has parts that could possibly spoil the previous "episodes" slightly. The dogs being in the prison - from what i read of the second one it is a "whodunnit" but the stories themselves are well contained.
At the moment you can get the whole series for $20 (dunno how they do the conversion to other currencies - whether properly or not) but only until monday the 9th. So if you are going to get it then do quickly.
Seems nice enough, though you can tell wallace's voice is not sallis at times though on the whole the "back up" voice actor does a good job. Rest of the voice acting is really good and the game has a nice feel - although the animation is nowhere near as nice as the actual plasticine shorts ;) Nicely made though - although some textures (like the ice cream truck) are horrifically low res, especially when compared to detailed other ones, for reasons i can't understand haha.

Hmm. Well, at any rate, at least I have it. Thanks for the warning.

The Games section of (
http://portableapps.com/apps/games) Portable Apps has a couple of decent games - remakes (of sorts) of Scorched Earth and Arkanoid, Warzone 2100 etc.

You know, for some reason I thought I had posted a thread about (
http://www.talesofgames.com/barkley/) Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden when it came out, but apparently not. Possibly the greatest freeware game I have ever played. Add it to DA LIST. Also, the full title (Tales of Game's Studios Presents Chef Boyardee's Barkley, Shut Up & Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa) may well qualify as the longest game title ever.
