(
http://exile.ovine.net/) The Nameless
With physics-based gameplay now all the rage, it's worth taking a trip down memory lane to relive one of the first (and certainly the most complex) games to really do such things in earnest -- 20 years ago.
This is fun. :)
Just spent 2 hours with it, I've found the first 3 keycards, and it constantly keeps surprising me with new things that you can do. I'm a bit let down by the fact that you can't kill stuff by hurling crates/things at em tho.

Very fun game. Kinda makes me think of Metroid.

THE NAMELESS
THE FUCKING NAAAAAAMEEELEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
A review. By henke.
Why haven't I heard of this game called Exile before? This shit is classic! I seriously have a hard time beliveing that all the stuff in Nameless was really that game they made 20 years ago. The complex physics, the breakable debris, the story, the fricken ECOSYSTEM! Well, maybe calling it an ecosystem is an exageration but I got real kick out of throwing one of those red floaty things over at the wasps to find out that IT EATS THE WASPS! And the more it eats the bigger and bigger it gets until it pops and leaves a big diamond! BTW my final score was 10000+ something and I got 100% on everything except for the Ore which I only found 99% of. Grrrr.
And what about those Space-Sheep eh? I was so thrilled when I escorted one into what looked like some sorta space-sheep pen and saw the little green light light up. I just kneeeew I had done something right. And the game doesn't tell you jack shit! You gotta figure it all out for yourself and when you do it's just so rewarding. I read that Exile is one of only 3 games that EDGE has given a posthumous 10/10 score to and I can see why. It's just perfect gamedesign. Even today it holds up.
That was 7 or 8 hours well spent. I will be going back some day. To replay it. And find that last 1% or ore. Thanks for the tip ShadowCat. :)

I just realized that The Nameless(no pun intended)is actually a spiritual sequel to Exile, NOT a remake. Thus, I might as well install and play it...
...if the damn download link on the Web page wasn't always giving me a corrupted .zip file!

WolfQuestNo offense to you, but that was the most ridiculous, buggy, WTF game ever. The wolf jumps 30 feet straight up. And the controls are broken. I really liked the premise, and I am rooting for it, it is just an unplayable mess in my experience. Any tips? Am I possibly missing something or doing anything wrong?
Also, THe Nameless is looking great so far. Good start.

Remember when I gave away Independence War 2? Well, now I've got a new, sealed copy of Tribes: Vengeance sitting on my desk. It's going free, anywhere in the world. What do I want in return? Simple; PM me saying that you want it, and include a short joke in your PM. I'll take all the valid requests and randomly choose one forumer to receive the game.
Edit: closing date for requests is 9am GMT on Friday.

Nope. As you could have noticed it's not a finished game - updated versions with expanded gameplay are planned for release in future months. And I have mentioned that "However I must complain it has a bit clumsy wolf character control and I have noticed several bugs."
It's a free game made by small studio for granted money, what do you want, army of professional betatesters, like big publishers can afford?
You may post your experiences, constructive critics and report bugs on the official community forum - the devs read and moderate it, they'll be grateful.
It's not the worst underground specimen I have tested so far...

There's another game that intrigues me slightly there, a remake of Alien Breed. Looks frustrating as hell, but can I resist?
Most of all, you shouldn't resist. The respawn is a little too high in my opinion but otherwise it's a pretty good remake of the original game. I never managed to finish any of the Alien Breed games (including AB3D 1 & 2) so I was surprised I was able to finish this remake.
