Oh my God, TotalBiscuit. He was such a good journalist, RIP.
Oh, I didn't know he'd died. I only saw a few of his videos, but the one on Frozen Synapse sold me on that game.

Epic Giveaway: (
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/p/thehunter-call-of-the-wild) The Hunter: Call of the Wild
What I like about this game is you can just hike around in the nature & it's pretty nice, if you're into that kind of thing. And then you can do the hunting thing for a while. It's a pretty low key game.
I'm not really into hunting culture and wouldn't actually do it IRL. I think about it, as a sim, in the same terms as playing an FPS, the sport of being stealthy, being deductive (where a target probably is and what direction you should approach it from), & trying to lead a moving target, etc. And it's pretty good for that kind of thing. There's a bit of the game that assumes the hunting culture part of it and it can be a bit gamey (I should learn how to turn the screen bling off). But it's really not that much, so I can get pretty immersed in this game. Really I like the hiking part more than anything else.
Edit: I should mention this is a base game that's kind of limited, just one part of one area and limited equipment. Most of what you can do with this game, the reservations & equipment, are separate DLC. In that way it's a kind of annoying sports game.

I think you're confusing it with its predecessor theHunter there, which was indeed very limited in the base game. Call of the Wild has a huge map and lots of content in the base game. And yeah it's a good one!

That Godfall thing is a bit weird. Apparently it's a version of the game that just strips out the campaign and plonks you in the endgame at max level so you can... grind drops I guess? Apparently the road there isn't that much fun so maybe that's an improvement? :D

https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/p/shenmue-3) Shenmue III is free at Epic Store until tomorrow (Friday). I think it's one of those daily freebies again that Epic has done during Christmas. :) You also get a $10 coupon to use on any game that costs $15+, which is nice if you're actually planning to buy something.
