Ok, I went to ubi.com and changed my location to United States and I still get the "Sorry, you must live in the U.S. to play this game" message! WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

If you downloaded it from Fileplanet, change your Fileplanet account settings to show you indeed live in the U.S.

Nope, I got it from FileShack (without an account). I don't know, maybe I have some old cookies lying around acting up or something... I'll look into it tomorrow.

henke,
Check it out.
"Thank you for downloading one of the promotional PC titles made available for ad-supported freeplay over the Labor Day weekend. The promotion is now closed and it is no longer possible to play the games for free."
Found this in my mailbox after trying to install PoP to no avail. So now I have a 1 GB ad-supported PoP install on my HD that is useless. I got FarCry half-way and ditched it after I realized it was futile.
Mods might want to pull those links because you can still download but it would be a waste of time so no need to mislead people.

Yeah too bad :( FilePlanet says:
"All downloaded files which have not been activated are going to be made inactive through the ubi.com login. Previously, the ubi.com login would require a US country in order to install the game. Ubisoft will make the ubi.com login reject all entries into country. They hope to relaunch the program once we can add IP-blocking into our login process."
So at least people in US might have a chance to see this happening again.
I'll edit the post with the links.

Balls, I was thinking of getting Prince of Persia as well...
I just hope that I can still install Far Cry on a newer PC down the road...though, by the time I get it, I'll probably be too busy with either Bioshock(my current PC has a snowball's chance of hell in running it)or the Crysis demo.

In other news, both Knytt Stories and it's downloadable content is fucking amazing. The games are just a joy to play
