Might be worth mentioning that it's a VR art experience sort of thing.

2. (

Control is interesting. Really high production level. The gameplay is slick. I personally was really into the art direction and have taken tons of screenshots.
It's kind of trying to be in immersive sim territory, and have this mystery story that's also throwing everything on the wall and seeing what sticks arguably a la Deus Ex. You could say it doesn't really succeed, and I started to see some cracks a few hours in, but then I kept playing and started liking it again just for sticking to its guns, and the gameplay and exploration are, aside from everything else, consistently fun (for me).
It's also in a weird space that's partly taking itself seriously and partly winking with lots of in-jokes and fan-service fodder at the same time, which is another thing that annoyed me at first, but after a point I just rolled with it and had fun with it. So all in all, it's worth the experience. I don't know if it reached the level of Prey, but I was into it more than, e.g., the post DX:HR Deus Exes. And I mean, it's free. No excuse not to give it a whirl now.

Genshin is a F2P gacha game, no need to rush to get it.
I'm going to second the recommendation for Control, well worth your time.

Holy shit CONTROL! That's huge. It's a great game, play it folks!
Genshin Impact is an odd one. It was already available as a F2P game, is it just included in the Free Games of the week category to highlight its introduction to the Epic store? Anyway, tried it a bit on PS4 but it didn't really grab me.

I wasn't a huge fan of Control - I liked bits but found it boring for large stretches - but it is definitely more than worth checking out if they're giving it away for free. I suspect it's one of those games that will really resonate with some people and they'll love it.

(
https://www.gog.com/game/hellpoint) Hellpoint is free on gog.com for about 48 hours. I saw streams of this game, it's a soulslike, have some interesting ideas and world, but also seemed a bit unpolished and rough around the edges.
