Full games for free (with ads in loading/menus):
EDIT: Links removed, games no longer working.

I was wondering when in-game advertising was going to get big enough to start releasing some popular, not-too-old games. This is the precipice...

I hope those in-game ads aren't too intrusive, because Far Cry for free doesn't sound like a bad deal. (It's one of those few FPSs that can run half-decently on this 2002-era system while not totally looking like crap...and it'll help get me pumped for Crysis.)
In the meantime, it looks like I'll have to get cracking on C&C again. Seems that my overnight download didn't finish, and the 56k-class transfer rates didn't help much. I hope that's just because a ton of people are trying to get it before September's end(where they'll take back the free downloads), because I can't wait to find out all about Kane. (There's something you gotta like about that guy, even if he is heading the bad guys and you don't know much else about him...)

I've read on some other forum that this ad-supported version of Far Cry has multiplayer locked out.
Downloaded it, I'll see for myself when I install it.

The problem with free Far Cry multiplayer is that you need a CD key, and this version doesn't give you one.
I'm also wondering if the CD key is tied into one's ubi.com account.
(Speaking of ubi.com, I'm now starting to feel glad that Crysis probably won't use it...)
...Okay, I am just STUMPED trying to figure out how to progress in seiklus. 76% complete, with only half of the green round creature things missing, and 55 of the black ones to go. The only golden item I'm missing is the star all the way to the bottom-right. I notice an area with sealed "caves" with dots that light up with a certain color if you collect all 100 of the round creature things of a given color. Can't do anything there...yet.
There's also a giant piano thing just past the volcano area. When you land on a key, the bottom circle lights up with a given color, which definitely corresponds with one of the colors of the round creature things. As to how to use it, I just don't know. The worse part here is that I can't jump up to the ledge and explore further-it's just too high.
Finally, I still don't know what that W key is for.
Can someone throw me some hints here so that I can be done with the game and move on to Knytt (Stories)?

So how intrusive are the adds and how often do they show up? I'm guessing it's going to be loading screen style adds that show up in between every level, but you never know with game advertising these days. Wasn't it Swat 4 that used in-game advertisements on posters throughout the game level?

You won't need to until later in the game. However...
Try taking a closer look at that weird mural in the area with the "ghosts" that pop when they touch you. You've most likely seen it, and it's a hint. There's a lot of these around the game - little details, usually on the walls, that are different from everything else. They're usually a hint that there's a secret area around; however the mural is a blatantly obvious irregularity and does not hint at a nearby secret.

You'll see, again it's not relevant until a bit later in the game.

Just change country in your ubi.com account into U.S. and you'll be able to play it.
