[00:00] *I press play and start up Themselves new album "theFREEhoudini"*[00:15] Oh. My. God. This song sounds Super Awesome!
[00:27] Oh wait... my musicplayer has jumped to the wrong track. This is that "Battle without Honor or Humanity" song from the Kill Bill soundtrack.
[00:00] *press play, with the right song selected this time*[00:05] *put on my wireless headphones and go into the kitchen to pour myself a tall, cool glass of discount Coca Cola substitute*[02:10] Ok, I'm listening to the new album by Themselves, aka Jel and Doseone (he of cLOUDDEAD, Subtle and loosing to Eminem in The '97 ScribbleJam finals fame).

[03:40] doseone rapping now. Dishing out some harsh words for people who have been
white-boying him:
"You ain't no gangster, you sleep too much!"[04:26] Aesop Rock! :D
[07:55] Buck 65! :D He's the first rapper on here rapping slowly enough that you can make out the words. He's rapping about... uh... John the Baptist?
[13:17] After a slow boring part that dragged on a few minutes dose says "fuck all this singing shit" and now he's rapping fast again wheeeee :D I like it when he raps fast. :)
[14:25] Now some chick is rapping. I guess this is Lionesque, whom doseone spoke warmly of in last weeks (
http://www.avclub.com/articles/adam-doseone-drucker-of-themselves,26818/) AV Club interview.
[21:43] "Guess who's back?" they say. There's a lot of
"Guess who's back"-ing on this album. I DONT KNOW GUYS WHOS BACK????
[23:53] Ooooh, he's rapping fast again! Sonically this album reminds me a lot of the good parts of Themselves sophmore album "The No Music"; songs like "Dark Sky Demo" and "Good People Check". The rapping is fast and tight while the beats have a loose, stuttery, hastily-thrown-together-although-they're-clearly-not sound. Like Jel is just stacking things up trying to keep the beat in pace with dose's verses.
[26:40] I don't know who's rapping here but this is my fave rap on this mix so far. Had to rewind and listen to this one again.
[35:57] Why?! :D
[38:25] "I ain't rappin' for money" Sho' nuff, you can download this album for free here: (
http://www.anticon.com/thefreehoudini/) http://www.anticon.com/thefreehoudini/ It comes in the form of a 39 minute mp3.

Del the Funky Homosapien! What a coincidence, he's the one who's been (
http://www.avclub.com/articles/adam-doseone-drucker-of-themselves,26818/) white-boying doseone! >:U
Quote:
AV Club: To those who don’t know, what exactly is it to white-boy someone?
doseone: [Laughs.] It basically means to shine someone on, which, wow—that’s also a racial term. Like when I met Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, I went up to him with my first tape, Hemispheres, and was like, “Dude, huge influence. I just gotta tell you,” and he was like, “[Groans.] You gonna get me a beer?” I try not to ever do that to people. You can’t be taking from motherfuckers. It’s such a crooked way to run the ship. I actually met the drummer from Shellac at ATP in 2007 and he totally white-boyed me, so you never outgrow it, but I think we’ve been lucky to be on that side of the coin, to not have the world at our feet. It’s kept us grounded.
I'll still give his new album a listen though. :D

Viola recently changed the way they produce music. Now they upload a track once a month to their website for people to listen. They also released all their previous records for free.
They do electronic pop music.
