Russian ambient artist Beautumn has a few live sets available for download, and since it's all made on a computer, it sounds as good as anything he's released.

Parent directory also contains material from his other project, Sleepy Town Manufacture, though I'm not really a fan of it.

From the hip-hop world: (
http://74.124.198.47/illegal-art.net/__girl__talk___feed__the__anima.ls___/) "Feed the Animals" by Girl Talk. Although you are asked to specify how much you would like to pay, it is okay to enter 0.0 and download the album for free.
From rock/metal/punk: (
http://www.machinaesupremacy.com/masusite/archive.html) Machinae Supremacy. The free stuff they offer is a number of different songs they have recently grouped into "albums", available under Webography, as well as the soundtrack they have made for the game "Jets'n'Guns".
Also, let us not forget about (
http://ghosts.nin.com/main/home) "Ghosts I" by Nine Inch Nails - although the other three parts of "Ghosts" need to be paid for, this one is free. Once on the Web page, click Order and check the "FREE DOWNLOAD" option.

Ooooh! Girl Talk! :D I will be downloading this when I get home. Machinae Supremacy I would halfway file under "game soundtracks" and Beautman's isn't really a coherent album but I'll include them both anyway because I'm such a NICE GUY

(
http://www.ambient-nights.org/) ... many, many hours of ambient music. I've been living off the stuff from this website for about two years now.

I'm suggesting this for fifth time maybe, but I just love this netlabel.
