* Only albums released for free by the artist/band. No warez.
* Prefeerably just professional stuff by artists featured on labels. If your cousins friends garageband have a few mp3s on their site, don't bother posting it.
* No game soundtracks, there's already a thread for that (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77217) here.

The only one of those artists I've heard anything by is Deerhoof. The best online artist I can think of is (http://beatallica.org/music.html) Beatallica.

EDIT: I guess I missed Superchunk when I first scrolled through. Deerhoof is better.

'distractions' by (http://www.bravecaptain.co.uk) bravecaptain (Martin Carr from the Boo Radleys) is definitely one of my favourite albums of 2006, so you might want to check it out. It's too difficult to describe the music in just a few words, so just click the link below and start downloading - there's just 8 tracks on the album. My favourites are probably 'Jerusalem' (feat. Akira the Don), 'Oh You' and 'Whatever Happened to Fingertipsaint'...
Oh, and I think you need to enter your e-mail address before you can get the songs, but you can probably put anything there...

I don't know if he's on any label or anything, but I liked (http://kenk.cl) kenk's music.
He also has a (http://www.daf.cl/movie.html) video clip of one of the songs that's available for download there. It's linked from his site too. I'd try the video first, as a sample, and also because it's pretty.
