AdFreak was kind enough to put together (
http://adweek.blogs.com/adfreak/the-30-freakiest-commercials-of-2009.html) this list of ads ranging from mildly strange to pure nightmare fuel.
And because somebody will end probably up whining like a Keebler elf who's been tied to a cactus and flogged with a lamp cord if I don't mention it:
SOME OF THESE ARE NSFW.

Man the top ten was just a fucking wrecking ball.

That Breast Cancer Foundation ad was just plain grotesque (and well done for an ad from NZ), though I can't help but wonder if anyone stayed on the channel long enough to find out what it was about.
Did anyone take that polar bear ad seriously?
AR Master on 22/12/2009 at 06:35
the environmental ones are whiny as all fuck and take the piss out of 9/11 (heh, you think those people falling were bad? these are fucking POLAR BEARS you suv driving prole)
but the one thing left the english arent total whiny little faggots about is their violent and wonderfully gory PSAs. Some of those, well no all of those british/commonwealth commercials are just jaw dropping and shocking in their brutality and frankness. Of course some over entitled wal mart mother would be screeching HOW DARE YOU I RAISE MY KIDS ON TV YOU AINT SPOSED TO SHOW THAT I SMOKE IF I WANT over here opting instead for bullshit stats and reversal-of-fortune tobacco funded ads but they're wonderfully done
Phatose on 23/12/2009 at 00:00
Cripes, the Brit's really don't fuck around in their PSAs. The don't text and drive one - damn, you can hear her neck bones crunching.

Am I the only one who thinks that the list pretty much failed? I mean, I didn't get freaked out by any of those commercials. Granted, some were a little disgusting, like the rat poison, and some were serious like the texting/drunken/drugged driving, but others were funny to me, like the Evian babies and the disembodied head. The only one that got close to creeping me out was the Four Seasons one starring the girl who got her own Facebook group.

So because you're twisted and emotionally stunted the list is a failure. Okay.
Enchantermon on 23/12/2009 at 04:36
Not true. I felt many different emotions when watching those commercials. I didn't, however, feel anything that I expected to feel from a "Freakiest commercials" list.

The crux of my point still stands.
