Oh mine, I see. Two weeks ago that would probably have been enough just because of how amazingly huge some things can be, but things have changed a bit, somewhat more in favour in my position and more is going to come out so just grab a sixpack and enjoy the show.
Yes, yours. See, if you were interested in engaging with the facts and having an actual conversation about this then you'd actually take a look at the links people give you and find that out, because it's not that bloody hard. And then you could possibly have questions relating to the substance of those links, instead of reflexively attempting to cast doubt on them.
But you're emotionally, ideologically and intellectually incapable of even considering that there might be some merit behind climate change, so you just continue your quest to embarrass yourself.

I don't deny climate change that would be silly since it has been happening forever, I don't believe we can have anything to do with it that is insane we can't change the climate of a planet we are to the planet what ants are to us. We can't do that no matter how much you want humanity to be capable of such a thing, we can't. So when we get down to it, what exactly are the agreements that the caviar-hippies who somehow blowjobbed their ways into where serious politicians should be going to accomplish besides growing fat on my money.

Although Fragony, we have essentially reversed several hundred million years worth of photosynthesis by burning a significant proportion of history's carbon sinks. Thats basically why everyone's worried. You're right in some ways though; too much bollocks being slung around on both sides of the argument. I'm going to get to the bottom of this. I'll get back to you - see if I can get some actual research in here. Expect pdfs if I can find them.
Also, fucking alarming lack of faith in the integrity of an entire field of scientists. Thanks.

That's enough for me and I won't push it any further. But you really have to question what people have been feeding you, sometimes things are that much more grotesque than you could possibly imagine, we are just mere mortals and some are better at being it, that more corrupt, that much more willing to lie.

Question: do you think detonating the entire nuclear arsenal have an effect on the planet's climate, or are we such ants that wouldn't matter either?
Vivian on 8/12/2009 at 11:55
This is an aside, but ants are incredibly important to terrestrial ecosystems. You get rid of them, it's tits up across most of the globe.
DDL on 8/12/2009 at 12:51
Also there is estimated to be more biomass 'in ants' than there is 'in humans'.
Plus I'd imagine someone covered in fire ants would be first in line to point out that they are, in fact, capable of significant 'effect' on humans.
They're really not the best choice of animal, fragony.
(Also, so glad someone brought up nuclear winter)

The big despite I didn't bother to not mention, yes that would do the trick. In that sense we can change the climate, we could blow up a vulcano as well, it is possible. sometimes they do that out of theirselves causing massive stress to the enviroment, but than again they usually don't, why don't we take madness out of the equation since nuclear bombs aren't that much dropped, and vulcano's are too cool to bomb.

So you admit humans are capable of changing the climate.
so 5,000 megatons (or 2.5xE18 Joules) is capable of changing the climate
So why isnt the anual energy output of human civilisation (5xE20 Joules) which is 20 times as much not capable of having any effect?
Aerothorn on 8/12/2009 at 14:39
You can't use numbers, ceebs, it fucks up the rhetoric.
