I never made the Jello Biafra Connexion before. My eyes wide!

What the fuck are you on about?
From Jello's perspective most everybody is a Christian right wing devil.
Aside: Yesterday was sweet. It hit 69F here (that's 20C for those of you with modern systems of measurement.)
EDIT: Beat the old record by 7 degrees.

I still think one of the most impressive quotes I have read came from Rupert Murdoch, hardly a tree hugger.
"Now, I realize we can't take just one year in one city or even one continent as proof that something unusual is happening. And I am no scientist.
But there are signs around the world, and I do know how to assess a risk.
Climate change poses clear, catastrophic threats. We may not agree on the extent, but we certainly can't afford the risk of inaction."

But let's be clear: Jones is talking to his colleagues about making a prettier picture out of his data, and not about manipulating the data itself. Again, I'm not trying to excuse what he did -- we make a lot of charts here and 538 and make every effort to ensure that they fairly and accurately reflect the underlying data (in addition to being aesthetically appealing.) I wish everybody would abide by that standard.
Still: I don't know how you get from some scientist having sexed up a graph in East Anglia ten years ago to The Final Nail In The Coffin of Anthropogenic Global Warming. Anyone who comes to that connection has more screws loose than the Space Shuttle Challenger. And yet that's literally what some of these bloggers are saying!

I'd absolutely love to get my hands on the statisticsf so that I could run it through SPSS and generate a report myself.

The UK Met office is releasing the raw data used to analyse global warming.

Half of this new transparency is them pointing out where to get the existing public data anyway. The angry folk about this are a bit like people who think the tendrils of big business ownership are some evil conspiracy because they don't read the business section.
This video is pretty damn funny:
