I disagree, bad idea to drain the blood out of our economy's with extra taxes and more government control.
O NOES TEH GOVENRMENTS!
Seriously though, when the potential consequences of being wrong are:
Pro-warming: higher taxes!!!!one
Anti-warming: APOCALYPSE
I would prefer to be in the first group, since even if it turns out to be wrong (which is unlikely), the negative outcome is still highly
survivable.

Link?
Oh wait, just had a look. I guess you
could argue for this, if you consider temperatures of something a huge as the fucking planet to be viewable in only small windows, and ignore the steady rise for the previous 100+ years. A trend which also entirely accommodates the ten year 'stability'.
Or you could ask yourself: are we getting entirely freakish weather events with increasing frequency?
...why, yes.
Yeah an 0.6 rise in global temperature in 100 years. Impressive.

Ok, so now you accept that the planet's warming? Awesome. Now it's just a case of arguing the degree (no pun intended) to which this affects us.
It's like creationists and micro/macro evolution! Except more depressing.

Quite, who is the EU sending to Copenhagen as the sceptic, people who work in the field? No they send Nick fucking Griffin, the message, if you have any doubt you are extreme right.

It did, and now it doesn't, despite an increase in CO2.

The polar caps are melting because it's getting colder, bro.

Possibly, it's getting colder indeed. But only (parts) of the northpole are melting (my mistake earlier, at least I know there are no icebears in the south), Antartica is growing.

Wasn't it you who said melting the ice would have a short term cooling effect? (no doubt in a more terse fashion).
Oh except that it can't be melting because it's not getting any warmer. See, big piece of ice that doesn't alter the trend greatly.
Oh but it is getting warmer, just not enough to melt anything and not because of CO2.
Oh but back when it was the ice age it was only a similarly small fraction of degrees cooler and that was apparently enough to freeze plenty.
This is like the Gish Gallop.

For my argument it is enough that you don't know what the fuck is going on, but that doesn't stop anyone from going to Copenhagen now does it, to make excessive policies that are going to cost billions and billions of euros.

Yeah! Fuck those politicians! Let's just have cheap coal, oil, and gas, which we can burn for shits and giggles and heating of uninsulated homes and cooling of homes with massive (yet inexplicably shut) windows, and HUGE CARZ until it's all gone, and then...wait, fuck.
Woo!
Seriously, even if global warming turns out not to be true (and note, I would be MORE than happy to be wrong), there is nothing to be lost by getting together and working out the most efficient ways of keeping everyone alive and content without BURNING SHIT WE CAN'T REPLACE. It's a double-whammy of goodness.
