Right now I average 35-40 FPS in game. Seems a bit low.
Fresh install, 1.18 patch. (Decided to play through again because of the new patch.)
1024x768 in game.
Fog set to medium
Bump mapping on
Detail and Textures at high
Weird thing is setting everything to absolute minimum only bumps the framerate like 4-5 fps at most.
Fraps says 35-40fps but in game it actuall looks much closer to 20 and seems to be worse when I am around torches. Strange stuff. I also get the inconsistent running speed problem, but setting VSYNC on or off has no effect.
My system specs:
Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2.39ghz
3GB ram
Geforce 7800GT
SB X-fi extreme gamer

Uh oh, just did some testing, intresting results:
Fresh install no patch:
60-70 FPS constant.
White textured objects problem.
Consistent walking speed.
Fresh install 1.17 patch:
60-70 FPS constant.
White textured objects problem.
Consistent walking speed.
Fresh install 1.17 patch and Arx texture fixes V2:
60-70 FPS constant.
Consistent walking speed.
Fresh install 1.18 patch:
35-40 FPS constant!!!!
Inconsistent walking speed.
Excessive choppiness near torches.
:(
Thats right 1.18 totally destroys my FPS and introduces playability problems. Is anyone having the same problem?

Woah. That doesn't sound good :/ You might want to contact Arkane.
I'm waiting until something solves the issue with light coronas for my new video card, so I've not spent much time with it myself (and I don't have fraps installed, so I've no idea what my frame rates are).

You should post all the problems / bugs in Arkanes new forum. Then we might have a chance that they'll fix them.

And just to add. Steam users are stuck with v1.18.
