It's worth remembering that chimps have a lot more variety in their genome than we do.

And they sure put it to good use!

ah, i was just about to start a thread on this...
not only was this freaky as hell, but the final scene: while showing the family using bars to walk upright (as if walking upright is a sign of normality...ha!) the commentator pointed out that the son hadnt been scene.
then she said: "and then..." to allow the camera to pan around to a tree, behind which we see the son lumbering up the road in a scary-as-shit manner.
now i'm not making fun of these folks; but that image was like a zombie. coupled with the stupid and (i'm sorry, but i cant think of another word to describe it) retarded smile on this man's face as he shambled towards the camera - gave me nightmares last night. also at one point he stumbles and falls onto all fours, walks a bit like that then stands up again.
then i saw his hands.
these were more akin to those freakishly long, pointed claws you see in bad sci-fi movies about aliens.
once again, i'm not making fun of this - just how freaky it was.
very interesting mind you.

Does anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that as soon as the cameras go all of them will stand perfectly normally and have a good laugh at all the gullible scientists?

The bit that scared me was when he was pissed off, standing by the gate and he went WTFMENTAL, dropped to all fours and went like shit off a shovel across the garden. Just that way of moving is so eerie and scary to me.
I came away from it feeling sorry for them more than anything else, and midly pissed off at Turkish people in general (lol racism), as it seemed that nobody was willing to help them - even the army tried to keep the BBC and scientists away from them because those scientists were interested in what they meant to evolution.
I felt especially angry about the people in their village who refused to help them and said they were cursed, too.
