Four days and three nights on the other side. - by Stitch

Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn I am going to haul down to Milwaukee, squeeze my balls onto a plane pending acceptance by overzealous airport security, and finally fly out to the state of my birth where I will play guitar at a goth music festival full of fashion-challenged north easterners with MySpace names containing the prefix "DJ". So goth is this enterprise that the festival is named neither Gray Sun nor Dark Sun, but instead—oh yes, they did—Black Sun.
"What could this be?" you say. "Is it 1998?"
No, my friends, it is

The Police were awesome when they weren't old and going through the motions for the money. I love the Pixies more than your mother loves you and yet I live in fear of their reunion resulting in a new album.
Derail aside, I'm an unpaid hired gun in a friend's synthpop band. Three nights with three hairy dudes in two hotel beds, can't wait to see what plot twists ensue.

I saw them on some concert on PBS recently and if I closed my eyes I was happy, but when I opened them I was sad again.
Just a bunch of old geezers playing awesome songs of my youth.
Sonic Youth Syndrome.

I predict inebriation, gay sex, and at least one lengthy discussion about The Human League. Have fun!

Of all the pathetic, cash-in, reunion tours I've seen in my lifetime, the Police this year, and the Pixies in 2005, were two of my all time favorites*. And you had damn well better believe I'll be ponying up the scratch if the Van Halen/David Lee Roth reunion ever comes to fruition, even if it is ten years too late.
Yeah, we don't want them in the studio trying to fart out a new album, but goddammit, the classics sound just as good live. I still want to bone Kim Deal, and Andy Dick is an amazing drummer.

*Though neither of them held a candle to Rage and Wu Tang last weekend at Rock the Bells.
Oh yeah, good luck at the show. Nothing quite like rich-kid, Connecticut goths.

That's my weekend. Apart from the gay sex ¬¬
I bumped into Phil from The Human League in Liverpool city centre about a year and a half ago. He no longer has any hair, but you'd never guess he was in his 50s.
