Am I going crazy, or are the forums extremely slow today? I normally open several threads at once when I'm doing the rounds, I usually need about 30 seconds to load a set of 5 threads, unless images are involved. Today, it took between 5-10 minutes, and none of the pages fully loaded. There was always something missing somewhere in the page, so I had to reload the damn thing again. When I loaded the pages separately, each normal thread is taking at least a a minute to load. I'm using Opera 8.52, and all other sites are loading fine.
What's going on here? :confused:

Everything's hunky dory here.
Server load is low, and pages are appearing at their usual speed for me.
It could be that your ISP's connection to the server's ISP is heavily loaded, or something.
The main thing (for me :p) is that TTLG seems to be fine.

Hmmm. Well, it's just past 2 am over here, and I doubt too many people would be awake this late on a Thursday night/Friday morning. If the server was overloaded, then everything would be slow, not just the forums, right? :erm:
I'll chalk this up to this computer's bastard modem. It drops out on me all the time, (my connection bombed 3 times in writing this) so maybe it's doing you guys a service and trying to keep me away from here. :p

And 5 threads simultaneously? Damn, no wonder you seem to be everywhere ;)

That's nothing; it's not uncommon for me to open 20 at once. :eek: But I only do that about once a day. I'm trying to lurk more; if you didn't notice I'm not doing a good enough job. ;)

Maybe it's because you aren't rying to open twenty threads at once in some desperate attempt to ... accomplish something or other, I don't know. Why the hell would anyone subscribe to 2000 threads at the same time? This girl is a complete mystery to me.

@GBM -- I just like to read everything I can on the forums. I'm sticking to opening a shitload of threads once a day, instead of abusing the e-mail server with instant e-mail notifications 24/7. ;) (And I'm down to 28 subscribed threads, I keep forgetting to clear them. :eek:)
