I'm just curious about how the admins choose games for this forum(except LG games like Thief obviously) Does it go by companies?
When I left these forums there were noticeably less games then after when I returned.

We've definitely had hits and misses, that's for sure.
Usually when we've noticed that threads for a game have started to overrun GenGaming we start to talk about a new forum. That's why there's a STALKER forum, and that's also why the STALKER forum will most likely be reabsorbed into GenGaming or simply archived when its course is run.
But also we've tried a couple of times to anticipate (with varying degrees of success) the mythical Next Game, the one that will make us feel like we did the first time we played whichever game it was that brought us to TTLG in the first place. That's where the Arx Fatalis forum came from.
It's never really one reason or set of criteria, though.
The company can be a factor, yeah. It was certainly the case with Ion Storm and Irrational -- not simply because we expected them to produce a new game comparable to (if not better than) That Game, but also because we knew they were People Like Us. Not only that but it was always dead easy to wangle some high-res screenshots or the heads-up on an upcoming announcement or even the occasional email / IRC Q&A about whatever they were working on... which is great for us and great for them. A good relationship.
The Morrowind Sex forum was, on the other hand, entirely Turtle's idea.
