Hmm.. found one reference to 'Moth' in a TES context:

Apparently this one Legion char from Redguard, named Attrebus, helped put down the "Moth Rebellion"; the Legion apparently gained the name "the Faithful" from that. Might be related somehow, but it's a very tentative connection...
