How do I exit Fort Grief? I got the real key, but I can't find where to unlock it.

I'm having trouble with that quest. I've fought my way out and gotten off the island, but I can't tell the guy's wife that she's now a widow. All she says is to be wary of the orc (Whom I've already mercilessly pummeled). I searched all the corpses but is there some item I need to take back to her to finish the quest?

It's actually in the fort - that door you couldn't open that's on the left immediately after entering. There's a switch in there
