Is there any way(aka console command) that I can use to find out the location of a specific item? I'm trying to collect all the Threads of the Webspinner, but I raided two of the areas with NPC's who have the threads early on, and sold the items before I knew of their significance. I've already had to commit murder to obtain one of the belts I sold the merchant. Its annoying how they put on the items you sell them if they arnt wearing an item of that type already. So short of killing all the merchants Ive ever sold to so I can see if he is wearing the rings I am looking for, is there anything else I can do? Sorry for the ramble, thanks for your time!

If you can find out the object id, using the editor, then there is a console command to place the item right in front of you-I had to do this today with a book that managed to get lost/disappear from my inventory. Try this:
placeatpc "object id" 1,20,1
This should put the item you need (or at least a duplicate of it) right underneath your character's feet. It worked for me anyway, if it's wrong I'm sure someone else on here will know what to do.........

Thanks JC. Could someone give a quick explanation on exactly how I would go about looking up the Item ID's in the editor? I have never used it, and as I try to figure it out right now I'm getting no where fast. Thanks in advance.

How to find the Id of a piece of clothing :
* Start TESCS
* Open the main datafile (Morrowind.esm)
* Go to the "Clothing" tab in the "Objects" window
* At the top : Click on "Name" to sort the various items by the ingame name (makes it easier to find what you need)
* Find the item you need
* Look at the leftmost column ("Id")
[/list=1]
Hope this helps.

If you get stuck (the editor isn't particularly user-friendly) let us know the exact items you're looking for and I'll have a go at looking them up in the editor for you.
