Aargh ... I've joined the House of Telvanni and am the rank of Master in the house, BUT now I've done the next few quests and when I go back to Master Aryon to advance or get new duties I get these two answers:
"You are a Master of the House of Telvanni. You have missed your change of becoming a Magister"
and
"You have foresworn the title of Magister"
Uhm ... AARGH??:wot: What does this mean??? Did I kill someone I shouldn't have killed? Does this mean I can't become the Nevarine because I can't get to the highest rank of one of the three Great Houses? Sound familiar to someone? Help much appreciated since I don't wanna start over again after playing for weeks and weeks :sweat: ;)

Short form: If you're on a PC, get the patch and you'll be okay; this bug will block you from going higher if on an XBox.
Longer form: Aryon's supposed to make you choose between 'Master' & 'Magister' at one point, but he also auto-promotes you after certain quests, thus screwing up that functionality. If he ever promotes you to Master and you're on the XBox, restore.
(Btw, 'Magister' is needed if you ever want to be the 'Archmagister')

Thanks for the info! Luckily I'm a PC, so I only have to get the patch :thumb:
I never did get the choice of becoming a master or a magister, so like you said it probably happened after the quests.
Another Q: Can someone recomment a fast site where I can download the european patch? Only found 1, which was 8Mb, while most US patches were around 3 or 4 Mb, but that FTP site was soooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooow. :sweat:

This doesn't mean that you have suddenly joined all the houses, it's just a title you need to progress in the main quest.

Tried the official site? There is also a big european site, I just can't remember the name right now.
