Foreign Language Soldiers to get more money for insulting foreigners in native tongue - by Fafhrd

the reason it strikes me as ominous is because (if you had read the BBC news story) they already provide a bonus for soldiers that speak foreign languages. They're significantly increasing that bonus for the people that speak those four languages. Three of them are native to countries that we're already involved in large scale military operations in.
And then there's Chinese, which we AREN'T involved in any military operations with or against (AFAIK), so why the bigger bonus for Mandarin speakers?
It would seem to imply that there's an expectation for deployment within China sometime in the near future.

This mean we might be looking at a future World War three where America gets to be the next Germany?Time to head out for Canada.....

Do us all a favor, Convict. Take the stick out of your ass and hit yourself over the head with it a few times.
Leave now.

Nobody likes you, kiddo.

Your mum does.
Tell her to stop calling me late at night.

I'm with RBJ here. Convict, just drop it. You were obnoxious from the beginning, as the title was clearly meant in jest. Also, you'd fare about as well in an insult competition as Stephen Hawking in a kickboxing match.

Well maybe I'm a bit sensitive about it because in the back of my mind is the Vietnam vets having things thrown at them when they returned. I have no problem with protesters being angry at the politicians but when the public turns on the soldiers I think it is going a bad way.

This image gets thrown around too casually to prompt rally-round-the-flag moments. Let's not forget that one of the largest bastions of the anti-Vietnam movment was
by soldiers... (linky on the (
