Was doing some screwing around with the magic system, after reading the post by Iazu where he said he discovered two new runes. (Look under Arx Easter Eggs thread).
Besides the ones he mentioned (a counter-clockwise square from the upper RH corner, and a Z), I've also found that you have:
1. a horizontal line going left (the opposite of the first "Ignite" rune)
2. a vertical slash going down (the opposite of the first "Nightvision" rune)
3. a rune that's like the second "Nightvision" rune, so that the point is at the top of the rune. (it would be a little like if you turned this "^\" into one continuous movement from left to right.)
So I thought it would be interesting to post our findings of new runes, etc. if you stumble on one screwing around with the magic system. Unfortunately, you can't cast new spells with them unless you have them in your magic book.
There are a few spells that I worked out too, though no names and effects are known.
line left + second nightvision rune.
vertical line down + second nightvision rune
line left + Z
Needless to say, I'm liking the way this magic system works. :cheeky:

Here's some runes I figured out (it shouldn't miss any as you have only the room for 20 runes on 1 page of your spellbook... althought I couldn't draw the "W" runes : so no UW mode for me...)
WARNING ! reading the following spoilers may ... spoiled your pleasure !
[SPOILER] - 'arrow' from left to right : hag (maybe, as I'm really not sure, means 'from the player to the world')
- 'arrow' from right to left : ihh
- 'arrow' from down to up : viga
- 'arrow' from up to down : rhaa
- 'U' from upper left corner : yog (means FIRE IMO)
- 'n' from lower left corner : zvigda
- '>' from up to down : vissa
- '^' from left to right : toldola
- 'C' from upper right end (make a curve) : kao
- 'Z' from upper left corner : boriz
- 'N' from lower left corner : Drega
- a sqare from upper right corner CounterClockWise (CCW) : azzi
- a sqare from upper left corner ClockWise (CW) : gazo
- '_|' from left : ectar (maybe, as I'm really not sure, means 'protection')
- '¬' from left : borde
- '¬_' from left : tow (means projectile IMO)
the last four ones are a bit more complicated :
- V from upper left corner and then an horizontal line (like a square root from upper left corner) : Djezz
- same sign reverse : '^_' from lower left corner
- horizontal line from left, then vertical line to down, then an horizontal line to left, then vertical line to down and then an horizontal line to right
- vertical line from down, then horizontal line to right, then vertical line to down, then an horizontal line to right, then vertical line to up and then an horizontal line to right ! :sweat: !!! [/SPOILER]
