Yes, slight site pimpage... But hey, it's not my site, I just help run it.
(
http://www.patrickzrealm.net/mdsindex.asp) The Morrowind Developers Society
The main concept of the Morrowind Developers Society (MDS) is quite logical and simple: There is a modder to the left of you, there is a modder to the right... why not come together and make something truly spectacular.
MDS is open to any and all who have a little love for the game Morrowind, and a lot of love for creating worlds. One dreams alone, many create the dream. MDS believes in the 'You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours' philosophy. Everyone has ideas. Bring yours to the table, and listen to others. People will help you if you help them, simple as that.
Why does it take a society to get some help? Technically, it doesn't. But, would you rather help some random individual with some random idea, or would you rather help a friend turn his concept of an epic quest into a reality? MDS is more than a mod-making machine. It's also about friendship. It is not a development SOCIETY for no reason.
Do not let lack of talent discourage you from joining us. Skills can be learned. A storywriter is nothing without his publisher to support him, as is the publisher worthless without the storywriter. Just having the best of one is not enough to produce a multi-selling novel.
MDS doesn't need you to dedicate your life to the all-powerful life-giving substance called Morrowind, either. As long as you have time to script an event, make a house or cave, create a part of a model, or write a short story, then that is all that MDS asks. Be realistic, however. Humans do need sleep, and food. MDS is not about slave driving, but about developing high-quality plugins for Morrowind for all to enjoy.
Of coarse, MDS isn't just a modder's playground. What we try to do here at MDS is discover new ideas, and bring them together, finding individuals who are clever and creative to work on grand plugins, or expansions if you will.
Also, it is hoped that you will learn something from MDS, if at least to make your day a little brighter.
