I want a thread about a collection of system specifications, what helps for ati users to figure out which pair of Ati card and version of catalyst works flawlessly with DDFIX'd dark engine games.
My system:
OS:Win Xp pro Sp3
Video card: Ati Radeon HD4650
Catalyst version tested:
9.4 works perfect at all games (T1,T2,SS2)
10.4 don't work
10.5 minor menu corruption in T2 and rare crashes in menu, T1,SS2 seem to works perfect
10.6 minor menu corruption in T2 and rare crashes in menu, some model texture corrupted,T1,SS2 seem to works perfect
10.7 both games crashing
10.9 minor menu corruption in T2 and rare crashes,T1 crashes,SS2 menu and texture corruption
10.11 with ddfix 1.5.7. -both games crashing
10.12 with ddfix 1.5.9. -T1G works perfect
-T2: works well ingame but entering to options menu while we in a mission can crash the game, anyway its stable, some minor menu corruption sometimes.
-SS2:menu corruption, crashing,crashing ,crashing...
In this thread we collect experience which catalyst version + Ati card + OS works flawlessly with latest version of DDFIX(1.4.5)

I've been playing around w/ a Compaq laptop recently... I installed Thief 2, for kicks, and so far, w/ DDFIX 1.4.5, it runs w/ no hitch.
But it's sort of a low end mobile graphics chip, a mobile HD 4200. It plays alot of modern games near perfectly, so It's an added bonus that Thief works fine, as well.

What is your catalyst version?

According to the AMD site for the Radeon drivers, catalyst 9.4 is only for Win7 and Vista.
Are you saying you are using it on a XPpro os?
Thanks.

Great another thread about DDFIX's ATI bug, maybe the people on here will finally take the issue seriously, and not dismiss this as the ravings of cranks.
XP64bit.
HD4650 1gb
Catalyst 10.11 (now using ATI Tray Tools v1.6.9.1486)
I don't think anyone is going to rollback their drivers to 9.4 (especially as the process is risky and involves Safe Mode), and break compatibility with the latest games just for dear old Thief 2 - well, it's not even T2, that works fine, it is DDFIX that is the problem.

I haven't been keeping up with ddfix and catalyst versions, but all I can say is that ddfix seems to be working fine for me on windows 7 pro, x64 edition. I have ATI 10.9 driver package and I'm using ddfix 1.4.5 if that makes any difference.
