Hi, I followed the 3 different pieces of troubleshooting advice in the Thief FAQ section on how to get movies to play, but still a no go.
Just a quick run-up, I run Windows Vista, Thief 2 works like a charm on my machine, but refuses to play the movies/cutscenes.
I really didn't mind not being able to watch the c'scenes during in-game, as I figured I could just watch them independently on Windows Media Player, Realplayer or DivX player that can run AVI movies. BUT, when I try to load up an AVI file into one of these players, they all crash and don't run the file, which puzzles me because I used to be able to do this all the time on my old cpu (which ran Windows ME, however).
I thought for sure running the IV5play.exe codec would fix things, but this was not the case.
Again, the game runs fine, but for some reason, I can't watch the movies anywhere or on any media player! Any clues on what step I'm overlooking?

Hi mark_one
Its sound like your missing the indeo codec, go download the klite codec pack - (
http://www.codecguide.com/) and when you install it make sure to tick the indeo option (for thief)
