Almost positive I'd previously been in Abanabi. Gave what's his name the Lord's Mail & then got the Chrysamere quest. (Thought I'd had it long ago but it's nowhere to be found & not now laying around in any of the 4 Caldera Towers, where I've been stashing stuff. Have never sold an item in excess of $5K value.)
So I make my way to Abanabi & everyhting in the world respawns 'cept the needed NPC's. Yes. 1st spoke w/the town gds, raised their dispo 'til they revealed her locale.
~ Maranique Jolvanne ->resurrect
~ Draramu Hloran ->resurrect
or just their respective last names, yields
Script Syswindow CompileAndRun Line 1 function reference object "(insert char name here)" not found.
~ Hloran ->placeatpc
yields
Script Syswindow CompileAndRun Line 1 function reference object "Hloran" not found.
Script Syswindow CompileANdRun Line 1 function needs to have an item ID after it on line 1? Compiled Script not saved!
RATS! So...if I was in Abanabi b4, would Hloran maybe not yet have been Chrysamere equipped cuz the quest hadn't yet been given? Anyway to respawn her now, cuz I aint goin' nowhere in the Imperial Legion ranks w/o I give what'shisname that item. & if I can't get there fr here, may as well go back & keep the Lord's Mail, tho I'd rather be able to advance.
TIA Forsythe.

Yeah, you can get it early; I had it for 3/4 of my 1st game before I knew it was part of that quest.
As to spawning who has it, you're close, the syntax is just slightly off; I don't have the editor on-hand, but assuming that the char that has it has the ID (which can be different than the name) of "Draramu Hloran", then try this:
placeatpc "Draramu Hloran" 1, 128, 0
If that doesn't work and you can't guess the NPC's ID, give a shout and I'll look it up when I get home (assuming noone beats me to it, something that's happening more and more often :))

Thx so much. That brought her back into the game equipped w/the needed item. The duel is on! Soon as I get back to Caldera, I'm gonna throw that thing on the floor & see if there's another one like it already laying around, tho I don't think there is. Maybe I wasn't already in that cavern. Hard to tell, since it's 'of a kind'. But what happened? If I hadn't been in there b4, why wasn't she there when needed? & if I had been in there b4 & dispatched her, wth is Chrys? Anyway, thx again. Nice to be able to take *SOMETHING* to conclusion.
Forsythe on 29/8/2002 at 23:42
Anytime ;) As to why she wasn't there, I can think of a couple reasons...
1) If any NPCs at all were in there but she wasn't, maybe she fell thru the floor? (IIRC, she's on a platform over water; she may've fallen thru and drowned ;))
2) If there were no NPC in there at all, and just critters, you likely killed her ;)

Forsythe, I've a game plan/policy of *NOT KILLING ANY NPC* unless they first attack, cuz they may be needed later. She's 'sposed to have an associate w/her, that Maranique Jolvanne fellow wiz.
So...if I'd already been there b4 the IL Chrys quest, then where was my Chrys? Was not back in Caldera, BTW.
& yeah, the (maybe) 2nd time thru, after getting the quest, nothing but guardian hosts & neither of the ladies.
Maybe I'm just a dumbass, or somehow royally screwed up that whole IL thing, but it seems to me the IL scripting may leave something to be desired. Cuz I gave what'shisname Chrys, asked about 'advancement', got told the duel stuff & that my journal had been updated, made it all the way back to Caldera b4 going to the arena - maybe that was a bad move? - got to the arena to find no what'shisname & that my journal HADN'T been updated, (even tho I'd seen the white-colored dialogue re the duel stuff when surrendering Chrys). Journal, instead, was still at the 'I-gotta-go-get-Chrys' update phase.
Arrrrggghhh! Do it all over again. Oh well, all behind me now & finally thru w/the IL. Whew! Still don't know wth happened but thx a ton, again.

Noo sweat ;) And yeah, others have reported similar issues re: the arena; I think the latest patch is supposed to fix that though... so unless you're on an XBox, or haven't patched, that's rather wierd. (Oh, and just FYI, the two women in question re: Chrysamere do attack you on sight; as to where it is if you'd already gotten it, the mind boggles at the endless possibilities ;))

i wasn't keen on giving up chrys to that guy... cos it served me very well when i was in lower levels... glad i got it back after i offed that guy.... i had fun with it too...
i made a spell called 'tired??' which drains 50pts of fatigue for 5 secs.. and then i boxed the crap out of him... how embarassing for him...
hmmm i feel guilty about how i obtained chrysamere though... i was in that cave and the npc got stuck on a pole while tryin to come at me... and i just filled it/her full of arrows... was quite happy when i found chrys on it/her...
there i feel better now that i confessed....:cheeky:

Forsythe, FYI, PC version inc 1st & 2nd Official patches, only 1 unofficial plug-in, no-cd crack, usually well-behaved, several 'void' events. Just the usual hard freeze if I play too long b4 re-bootong, so there may still be some Imperial Legion scripting issues.
Forsythe on 30/8/2002 at 22:40
Odd... well, I suppose it's possible he fell thru the floor at the Arena, but it just doesn't seem too likely (he's not there very long, usually it takes awhile for NPCs to fall thru the floor) Oh well :p
