I am running Thief 2: Metal Age on Windows XP SP3 with an Nvidia 8600 graphics card with the latest driver.
I have used the DDFix, Thief Enhancement Pack, and Ntex textures to upgrade the default TMA installation.
I am on the "Life of the Party" level. When I load it with fogging enabled, the level looks as if it's in daytime. The sky is not dark and there is no hint of darkness anywhere. When I disable the fogging option, the level returns to its normal nighttime atmosphere and looks really good, except that fogging is not in effect.
The fogging tip from the TMA troubleshooting guide does not apply to my driver:
"Go to the Windows Display Properties dialogue (by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing "Properties"), choose "Settings" | "More" | "GeForce" | "More" | "Direct3D" (or a similar sequence of tabs) and turn on "fog-table emulation".
In my Nvidia properties, I can't find any option that mentions fog. I have tried disabling a few options, but this hasn't helped.
Any ideas? Thanks.

This sounds like the way fog is supposed to look, could you post a few screen shots please..?

This is what fog is supposed to look like, there is something wrong in the other shots. But that said, some missions like LOP look better with the fog turned off.
What gfx card and driver version have you got..?

What are the other missions in TMA that utilize fogging, besides Life of the Party?

It's well known that LOTP looks like a daytime mission with fogging enabled. You should try Precious Cargo, I'm pretty sure it has fog.

Didn't someone make an altered version of fog for life of the party?
Yandros on 26/6/2009 at 19:52
That rings a bell but I can't find the thread.

I don't know why anyone would play with fog enabled if it looks like that! With all the fuss made over fogging in this forum, I'm surprised it looks as crappy as it does.
