Right this is really annoying me now, I'm on Win7 x64 and I've been wanting to play Thief and System Shock 2 for months and I can get the games running fine BUT no matter what I try I can't sort the movies. The game just skips them over, and won't play them even when trying to specifically in Thief.
I reinstalled the old Indeo codec, tried the regsvr thing and used DDfix etc but nothing seems to work. The movies play when I play them outside of the games, via WMP or MPC or anything like it, its just in the game they don't work and it is a little annoying, especially in Thief where they add a lot of flavour to the game. I've tried all sorts of compatability settings and running as admin but nothing seems to work.
Am I doing something wrong?

Did the movies ever work in game or have they always not worked?
Try the file (

Register the dll "regsvr32 ir50_32.dll" and make sure you are running the game in Administrator mode.

They have done in the past, and tried all those to no avail.
I don't know if this is because of Win7 x64 but other people seem to be able to get it running.

Did you open up command prompt in administrator mode and run the regsvr32 command?
