Ziemanskye, did you actually determine what the main problem(s) with v1,2 and 3 were? or is it one of those mysterious things that there is no answer to?

I think it's just the missing smesh to be honest.
I don't know why it's missing though.
And the outside area is nothing special, just a bsp, smesh and *big* directional lights
Here's the link to all three unr files for the level (Entry, zSchism and zSchismEntry, which is the outside bit):

Just a thought with the zSchismEntry file, I noticed you had extra portals in there you couldn't go through, are you looking to use them for other FMs ? I.E. as a kind of starting base for your FMs (similar to the city in the original game).

Thanks!

About the loader, I can't seem to find the current_install.txt. I know I haven't deleted it but it's not there.

Not really.
I just couldn't be arsed to build the rest of the street, and having now tried to do that, I know the Directional lighting makes it more or less impossible. Maybe as a not-early morning thing I might (not a bad idea, visiting the sane place at different times would make it more interesting). I wanted something to block the view to the flat textures/sky beyond the arches, but without giving enough detail to make people pre-occupied with trying to get there - I hate to see places in games I can't get too where there is the potential of
stuff, so a non-accessible street is just a great big NO

Right the best thing then would be for you to try out the next version of GL towards the end of next week. It will contain a debug flow so that you are prompted for pretty much everything (it will be very annoying mind, but its the closest thing to actually running the code line by line itself to see whats going on...however you can turn it off).

oh well, I suppose it does give rise to the concept of using the same entry map again for many other FMs it may be an idea to produce a kind of community one that people know and can use again and again, introducing new events/people/open doorways depending upon the FM, but keeping the actual structure of the map intact. Just a thought anyway.

I'll wait then.

If someone wants to change the lighting (or go off down one of the other exits, you might be able to avoid some of the problems by going down the one behind the current start point rather than the other two), then they can use it if they want. Credit if due though.
I don't intend to use it again, but then I'm only in planning/testing for one more map currently anyway, and that's part 3 of townhouse, so it wouldn't be much use to that. [part 2 is on the rooftops, and I'm not sure how I want to do that yet, part 3 is coming back down and getting weapons and stuff again, and was started as an entry to Komags comp before I ran out of space in his limits, so I'll just make it normally]
