I'm not blaming anyone, but I am pretty mad since I have to reinstall Thief 3 all over again

AARGHH! MY whole installation is gone now. Trying to load any FM in GLoader is worthless and trying to play this FM by extracting it over the installation has left my installation screwed up. And even the reset to default doesn't help!
Where abouts are you having problems with GarrettLoader? also you shouldn't need a re-install of T3, as there are a few known problems with versions lower than Version 4 of this FM.

See I put the zip files in the target folder for Gloader. Then I push install and it installs, but when I push play it just sits there doing nothing. if I try to install another fm it crashes. It's done that every time. :(
And plus I did download and install version 4 of the FM
I have successfully reinstalled THief3 and am now going to stick to GarrettLoader (hopefully) and stay away from backup files and overwriting files

When you say sits doing nothing, is that Thief 3 doing nothing or GL doing nothing. Also have you seen previous posts regarding the save game folder and problems with files becomeing somehow locked?
Also have you got the editor version of T3MAIN.EXE?
One other thing which GL doesn't do yet as it was only really recently discovered that it needed to do is have the user.ini file settings set up (as per the first post).

put t3main in thief3/system
did settings in user.ini
but it now says "Run time error 9
subscript out of range"
????

That looks like the save game error or a non completed current_install.txt file, I am still working on trying to resolve these at the moment and should have a more stable version out in a week or so (although I still don't see it being 100% stable until late november/december when there are more FM's to test with).
Ok delete the ../system/current_install.txt file.
Could you send me your GarrettLoader.ini file and debug.log file (in the GL install folder and if you have one the install_recover.txt file as well).
If need be I will send you the first beta version of 1.10 of GL which has alot of bug fixes for T3 installs but not the user.ini stuff yet.

Yay people have it working!
<insert happy little dances here>
The dude dying from the forge, uh yeah. I couldn't get the forge to hurt people based on a radius stim (just didn't know how to activate it I guess) so it's set that the actual fire-particle emitter does the damage when the particles hit things... Can burn you feet off through the wall by the generator room too.
On the grounds of being kind of sick of this level now though, I don't intened to do a v5 if it can be avoided.
And the loot count is only about 1200. I think it's an 1100-something, but some of that is things like the woman having a purse (sometimes), so it's not exact - biggest single loot thing I remember is the diamond cog at 400.
The zip file includes the t3main.exe, and a sub-zip for returning to normal, because I was setting it up to go to Fileplanet too (though they also got a user.ini with the modified numbers in it), and something that public and disconnected really needs to pitch to the lowest denominator. I figured GL would just do it's thing and not care what the files were, so it didn't matter so much here.
If you like the lights and stuff and want to see how it was done, thiefmissions still has the unr of the first version of the map (so it doesn't have the side door or outside area, and is slightly different in a few other ways), which has most of the lights and particle effects in it. Still need to increase the vertex pools to make it not crash the editor though, and it'll need recompiled because it's the auto-save version.

Any chance we could get the .unr with the outside too? I'd like to have a look at it if possible.
Good job, by the way!
