Assuming you've followed David's instructions to the letter, you've got two installation folders set up with the unneeded files from the Content\T3\Map left out. With a bit of trial and error, I think I've established that the editor installation seems to need certain .gmp files present from other levels (all the city ones should work, I think) to load without complaint. Best approach is just to copy all the .gmp files from the Map folder in your original installation to the one in your editor installation. This certainly stopped the "Failed to load 'Level None.MyLevel'" errors at the loading screen in my case, at any rate.
Edit: Also, Tutorial1 doesn't have a start point and isn't intended to run with the Play Level option. Try testing it with one of the other Tutorials or a game map instead.

Hm.. I'm not getting this error, but I am getting one about T3Main.exe that tells me "abnormal program termination". I think at the top of the dialog it had "Microsoft C++ Runtime" in the title bar. I'll try copying these files, but I haven't gotten the same error others have gotten, I wonder if it'll help. Anyone else with this? As I mentioned in another thread, basically, the loading screen comes up with I build and choose "Play Level", then I see that error message when I Ctrl+Alt+Del (because nothing seems to be happening).
This doesn't set up a good precedent for it being more stable than DromEd :joke:

I'd get that Microsoft C++ Runtime windows error announcement too, the "Failed to load 'Level None.MyLevel'" part comes up in the log window.

But what about maps that have no T3 .gmp equivalents? Like the tutorial maps?

That's where the "Export Map For Game" function comes in. My guess is that the problem is caused by Thief 3 checking the existence or needing access to the .gmp files for the city sections it thinks the player should have access to whenever a level is being run. You could probably just open all the unr files in turn and export the .gmp files from those, but copying them across is much quicker and simpler. Tutorial2 throws the error with the city .gmp files missing and loads happily once they're present on mine, anyway. I assume the game regards the city stuff as something that should always be there, regardless of whatever level is currently loaded.

Even with the .gmp files copied across I get the same error. Ah well, someone will work it out eventually.

Well, after exporting Tutorial4 to gmp and creating a shortcut to T3.exe (as outlined in the release doc) with "Tutorial4" placed on the end (after the parenthesis, though I don't think it matters), it finally loaded!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/peachsnowfalling/t3ingame.jpgMaybe that'll work for you? I'll try right now to play from T3Ed using "Play Level" to see if this also works. Hey, I'm happy
something worked finally (though I realize we're all being impatient) :laff:
EDIT: Well, it worked for me, running it from T3Ed (FleshEd?). I was teleported right outside Garrett's apartment. Hope you get yours working soon, Subjective.

OK I copied across the files and now it just hangs on the loading screen, with a hard reboot being the only solution. :(

Silly question time - do you have the Game disc in your CD player? Not sure if it makes a difference, but you needed to with T2, and I automatically did it with this one and was able to load the Inn.unr level right away from the editor...

i could not get the levels to work if i deleted the the files out of maps as outlined in the installation guide, it would just pause on the loading screen, when replacing the maps from my original installation the level ran fine.
