Bioshock <> SS(1 or 2), nor will it ever be.
Then again, if you ever play SS1, it'll have to be SP.

I don't see ss1 ever happenin' -- I play once a week on lan, that's about it.
last game I played solo was morrowind this past summer and I didn't even finish.
I imagine ss1's a little dated, anyway.
edit:
now this is eating away at me.....
how primitive does ss1 look compared to 2?

So primitive that if your gaze fell upon it for even the briefest of moments, your brain would explode, your bones would shatter, and all your internal organs would spontaneously rupture, liquefy, and gush forth from every orifice of your body in a raging torrent of crimson madness. Also you might get a nasty rash and split ends.

Why is that insurance salesman looking so shirty? Did the big guy from the opposing cubicle eat his sandwich again?

Looking Glass Studios and Irrational must be proud of how many newcomers you're deterring from trying their games with your heavyhanded flaming every time somebody shows up.
Looking Glass and Irrational either don't exist anymore or have nothing to do with SS2, so I'm sure neither of the two care about ZB's heavyhanded tactics. At any rate, I think he's hilarious, and TTLG.com wouldn't be the same without him.
SS2 single player is how it was made to be played, so if you really want to honor its creators, play it how it was intended to be played. Otherwise, we don't want any whining from the peanut gallery.

Also, it's best not to consider the implication that eom is experiencing SS2 for the first time at a LAN party.

Those types of thing usually turn into "pseudo deathmatches", where each player figures out that you can use cheat codes during a LAN game. Players start summoning turrents to fight each other, camping at the resurrections stations to shoot players as soon as they spawn, and so forth. Definitely not the amazing SS2 single player experience (but fun to do AFTER you've played through the game a few times).

haha...no, we just play co-op.
although, I can't swear to never accidentally killing him a couple times...
but, he blew me up a couple times, so it's even.

I'd say the graphics in Shock are a hell of a lot better than in Doom.
