Please no. We don't need rubbish missions cluttering up the Circle. It's going to be hard enough as it is without encouraging people. The Nitendo thing is nonsense.

I agree that we dont want rubbish incomplete missions for download as *compiled missions* that will run in non-editor installs of the game (eg the gmp and ibt files) for non-mappers, on places like the-circle,
but it would be nice if there was a forum or place for mappers to upload simple experimental maps in .unr format to swap and share tricks and techniques that are learnt with each other to accelerate the overall learning process.
In .unr format only those who have the editor installed and know how to use it will be able to use these "rubbish" maps, and they would be for learning rather than with the goal of playing them as completed missions...and only the original .unr files can be opened in the editor anyway, a compiled map in gmp format is useless for loading into the editor to see how things were done....
There has already been a little bit of swaping of .unr files on this forum already that has helped people learn new things and solve certain problems...
The end user who just wants to play completed missions and doesn't want to mess around with editor wont be able to play them anyway, so I don't see the problem...

I will not release a crappy FM.
Before I showed OCOD to Thief fans I managed to build four-five small FMs. Some of them were interesting, but none of them was a high quality FM.
It will be the same with T3Ed. I will spend several months on buliding something of at least small OCOD FM quality. And later I will try to work on some fullsized mission.
But... I would love to see some small (even crappy) FMs as soon as possible. For learning purposes... :)

I will release a crappy FM.
It is a destiny I can't avoid, but I'll promise to do my best. :erg:

No poor, unfinished missions! If a slew of poor missions start flooding out people will begin to think it's the fault of the T3 editor, and it's 'limitations'. People have waited a year for the editor, and they'll wait a few more months so you can all brew up glorious masterpieces. Update T1 and T2 missions if you must, but make 'em good. :)

For some reason, I think BUCKET GET (and subsequent victory by jay pettitt) is the funniest thing ever.
:D

Well it seems that half of us want crappy missions to learn from and the other half want to wait for quality missions. Based on this wouldn't it make sense for TTLG or Jason make a demo FM database for strictly learning purposes. This way both sides will get what they want, no crappy FMs and a learning FM. They just wont be official FMs.
I would make a demo database but I dont have a clue about web design just yet. This seems like a no brainer if you ask me.

- The first T3 missions that come out aren't going to be masterpieces, plain and simple. Not every mission that will be made for T3 is going to be amazing. It would just be ignorant to blame this on engine 'limitations.' Remember all the terrible missions that came out after T1 DromEd was released?

BUCKET GET nearly made me pee my pants last night laffing. and the fact that it only took 11 minutes for jay to "get" the bucket and "get" a screenshot! The hard part was trying to explain why it was so funny to my wife...
I agree with Vlad Midnight. Why not one place to download learning missions and half-baked demos, and another place for our spectacular polished full missions. Everybody wins.

I will of course be happy to give any demo FMs a home. We can add links to them in the Wiki. Anyone who wants to send such things to me should see (
