So half a million people bought it. What's the big deal?
Digital Nightfall on 13/11/2011 at 12:18
It's a big deal because (I read somewhere, not sure if this is true) that's supposed to be some kind of record for Steam.
Yes, there's currently no discrepancy of content for any versions of Skyrim. No pre-order perks, no day-one DLC, no buy-new-incentive packs, no collector's editions goodies. Betheda's stated that they intend to stick with meaty expansion packs for Skyrim, no nickle and dime add-ons.
I've been through maybe a dozen dungeons so far, and other than the re-use of art assets which you'd have to expect, everything feels like it was crafted by a team of ambitious level designers, unlike Oblivion's one guy with a semi-random cut and paste kit.

I don't think the Collector's Edition contains extra missions; at least, not that I know of. It does have the Alduin dragon statue (which I'm having the devil of a time getting to perch on his stand properly), the 'cloth' map (still pretty impressive though it doesn't feel like any cloth I know of), and 'The Making Of ...' dvd disc (which I haven't had time to watch yet since I'm still easing myself into the game). I'm not sorry I spent the seriously extra money though.
Well, not entirely sorry.
I just don't think I have enough testosterone to keep wrestling with that damned dragon.
:(
Damm! just went today to buy this game, when i saw the collector´s edition, i saw a huge box , but when i saw the price i ran away:sweat:, its 150.00 Euros!!! that´s fair price for those who like to collect goodies, i bought the normal edition for 50 euros, wich is already alot for me
Dia i didn´t know you were a big fan of this game :D, i have to meet women like you, on that aspect we have something in common.

It’s probably also a record number of people concurrently falling to their knees, gazing up into the falling rain,
and cursing a single interface designer’s name.
(emphasis mine).
Apparently, the issues with the interface are not only local to us critics on TTLG. Must be a tough time now being it that persons shoes. :erg:
Cardia on 13/11/2011 at 17:13
what´s wrong with the interface? Anyway i´ll find out soon, i´m still playing half life 2 episodes, all 3 episodes, i didn´t know half life 2 was such a very good game, Valve does really develop fine games despite their annoying steam creation.
The best game i played by bethesda software was fallout 3 and new vegas, the gameplay is much better than oblivion or morrowind, there was something i loved about fallout 3, you could be a devil player or a saint player, and it was really good when the game was judging your actions and somehow teaching what is right from wrong, i always tried to do good actions for npc´s, but even sometimes i end up doing bad deeds thinking i was doing the right thing, this was something that oblivion lacked, to show your actions status.

Hi Mike, lol...good thing we don´t have to put up with him at the thief community :D
Koki on 14/11/2011 at 07:28
Why would I want to put up with Thief community?
Anyway, I noticed in Khad's LP that leveling up Lockpicking also leveled up his character. Please tell me they didn't fuck the game up with level scalling again?
