The WebExtensions API is finally here in the stable branch of Firefox with v48.0. Did you have a favourite multi-platform extension which dropped Firefox support for because it was too difficult for the author to maintain? Maybe no longer. Firefox now has support for Chrome-like extensions, already fan favourites like (http://www.enhancedsteam.com/download/) Enhanced Steam have started supported Firefox again.

The downside is that the support for the classic extensions model will be depreciated, (https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2015/08/21/the-future-of-developing-firefox-add-ons/) probably within 12-18 months. That's close to 15 years of extensions being lost, probably hundreds of which have been discontinued for years.

EDIT:-
Also as of v48 it's (https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2016/08/02/exciting-improvements-in-firefox-for-desktop-and-android/) multi-process too. Took their sweet time to catch-up to Chrome on that one!
