I'm so pissed. This is such bullshit. An ersatz Anderson cum Altman would-be "epic", so contrived and manipulative and sappy it'd make the Lifetime network blush.
"Brokeback Mountain" wins almost every major category it's nominated for (as well it should, hype notwithstanding, it was superbly made by one of our master filmmakers) but then when it comes time to give a film like that the Best Picture of the Year even Hollywood is too afraid to go that far in their support.
We clearly still have a verrrrrrrrrrrry long way left to go, people.
This is pathetic.

Its just the Oscars.

I think they should win everything just to prove that we like gay people. I mean we really really like them. Everything they do is great.
I like gay people. Really.

So, is this your coming out, Spamlet?
Scots Taffer on 6/3/2006 at 05:23
Spamlet may like gays but he's still a racist.
Starrfall on 6/3/2006 at 05:32
Hollywood pushing the racial tension agenda again I see. Goddamned limousine liberals.
I actually wanted Brokeback to win ONLY because it'd piss off the fundies and then they'd go on about the gay agenda and try to ban boys-only schools or something. I haven't seen any of the best picture nominees so I set my own criteria!

What's this "we" shit, paleface?
aguywhoplaysthief on 6/3/2006 at 07:21
At least it wasn't Good Night and Good Luck that won anything.

How was Jon Stewart as the host? I normally watch the Oscars, and I'm a big Daily Show fan, but instead I went to see Reverend Horton Heat.
