Hi guys. I used to be a mad DX fan during uni days. However, with the burden of cubicle life, I never played DX again. Now with a new computer, I wanted to install the good old DX again for a reminicent game. But to my horror, I can no longer find my ol' DX. Tried finding the game to buy online but without luck so far. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Specifically, I am looking for DX GOTY with the soundtrack CD. By the way, I am not living in the US / UK anymore, so I need a site that would deliver overseas. Thanks in advance.

There is a DX soundtrack?! :wot: I want one too!
Well I would recommend ebay and amazon but you've probably already tried it.
And you could also buy a regular DX for temporary use, easier to find and it shoudn't cost you much.

Well the GOTY edition has been on budget for a while now so I'm pretty sure there isn't a big price-difference that and the original. btw the budget GOTY version on the SoldOut-label doesn't have a soundtrack CD. Not that I've ever heard of this soundtrack CD before, are you sure it isn't just something you dreamt. :p

I have the self-made soundtrack on 2 cd's.
If you love the music so much and can only get hold of the regular edition, just get the Modplug player(?) and it lets you rip the music from the game and convert it to .wav files to put on to cd.
Sorry if you already know about this. :)

Has anyone ever bothered to edit the tunes together to resemble a cohesive soundtrack? By this, I mean that there are, say, three variations of the UNATCO bgm, and they are designed to meld in with one another, and fade out, but of course if you rip to .wav, they don't do this. The result upon listening to the raw .utx conversion is a bit jolting. I'd like to hear the soundtrack the way it was meant to be heard.
If no one's done this, maybe I'll bust out Audacity this summer and do some basic editing. A little stitching, a fade in, a fade out... shouldn't be that hard, right?

That's a site with all the music tracks converted to mp3. He also has all the music from the original soundtrack on mp3 as well.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for your replies.
I am 80% sure that a sound track comes with some versions of GOTY. That was one of the incentives for existing DX fans to go buy the GOTY. For some reason, I just never got it, and would really like to get it now. A bit late I know, but have been kind of busy these few years.
I do have the MP3s already, but I wanted to rip them myself again. One of the reason is that I want to make a "movie" of my gameplay, so that I can show the story of DX to non DX fans. However, I would need the soundtracks to form the backdrop music. I can't use the in-game music, as that gets destroyed when I edit the movie.
I'd just prefer the original soundtracks on GOTY as they are organised for human listening, as opposed to the ones from the modplug.
Thanks for all your help anyway.

No, you're a 100% correct. I'm listening to it right now. :thumb:
It came with the "original" iteration of the GOTY edition released in 2001. I have no clue whether it's contained in the newer ones.
